Tecolote, California - 8, Simi Valley, California - 4

Tecolote, CA defeats Simi Valley, CA 8-4 in the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series Championship Game. Both teams entered the game with undefeated records of 3-0.

Simi Valley got on the board first with a Gabriel Lopez single that brought in one run, along with a Kealon Fisher groundout giving them a 2 run lead. Simi Valley would add onto their lead in the second inning with a Kolton Kazdoba single, and in the third with a Fisher sacrifice fly bringing their lead to 4-1.  Tecolote would take the game back in the top of the fifth scoring 7 unanswered runs on just four hits. Biggest blow for Simi Valley was an error that brought in two runs.

One the mound we saw a battle between Tecolote's Blake Moser and Kazdoba for Simi Valley. Moser gave up seven hits, four runs with six strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings on the bump. Kazdoba gave up four hits and four runs for Simi Valley, striking out five Tecolote batters. Kazdoba gave up just one walk in four and a third innings pitched. 

Jackson Satterly led Tecolote with two hits in three plate appearances, brining in two RBI's on the day. Moser and Satterly were tough to deal with, batting back-to-back and driving in two runs each. Tecolote stole 15 bases on their way to victory. For Simi Valley, Hudson Toczynski lead his team with two hits in three at-bats. Fisher showed the strength of the middle of the lineup, driving in two runs on the day.

Game Twelve

Tecolote, California - 5, Rodeo, California - 2

Tecolote, Ca defeated Rodeo, CA by a score of 5-2 in Game Twelve of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, with Tecolote getting out to early lead after a Maddoz Matthews-Tasco walk brought in a run. Leonardo Perez helped tie the game in the first inning with a sacrifice fly. Perez would single in the second inning, giving Rodeo a 2-1 lead.

Tecolote would take the lead back in the sixth, with a Bradley White single bringing in a run along with a Blake Moser RBI single. Moser, Mathhews-Tasco, and White each collected one hit and one RBI for Tecolote in the game. For Rodeo, they were led Perez who went three for three in th egame

On the mound, Rowan Pudlowski started for Tecolote, allowing one hit, one run and striking out no Rodeo batters through one inning pitched. Tyler Melio, Moser, and Dylan Housman came in relief for Tecolote, allowing no runs. Jeffery Molina Jr. started for Rodeo, allowing no hits, two runs through five innings pitched with nine strikeouts. Perez would come in for one relief inning giving up three runs. 

Tecolote will advance to play Simi Valley, California in the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series Championship Game at 6:00pm tonight. For Rodeo, they finish with a 2-2 record in this year's Mustang-9 World Series

Game Eleven

Los Mochis, Mexico - 3, Simi Valley, California - 5

Los Mochis, MX was defeated by Simi Valley, California, 3-5 in Game Eleven of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, with Los Mochis striking first off a Jaime Aguilar single that drove in a lone RBI. Simi Valley would strike back in the second inning with a Reed Webberley single that drove in a run.

Simi Valley would take the lead in the third with a Gabriel Lopez groundout that scored two runs. Eden Tapia tripled for Los Mochis in the top of the fifth to take the lead back. Simi Valley would strike back, retaking the lead, 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth.

Kolton Kazdoba started on the mound for Simi Valley, surrendering one hit, one run, and not strikeouts through one and a third innings pitched. Jeremy Sabel came in for relief, pitching for three and two-thirds of an inning with three hits allowed, two runs, and striking out three. Miguel Rodriguez started for Los Mochis, giving up two hits, four runs and striking eight batters in four and a third innings pitched. 

Simi Valley will advance to the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series Championship Game today at 6:00pm against undefeated Tecolote, California. For Los Mochis, they have been eliminated and went 2-2 in this year's Mutang-9 World Series

Game Ten

Rodeo, California - 14, Kingwood, Texas - 3

Rodeo, CA defeated Kingwood, TX by a score of 14-3 in Game Nine of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, with Dysen Davis, Jeffery Molina Jr, Edurado De Lara, and Jacob Zimiga bringing in 2 RBI's each in the contest. 

Rodeo started off strong, scoring four runs in the first inning. Rodeo would add to their lead in the third after a Kingwood error. The game would finish early after four innings with Rodeo scoring nine runs in the inning.

On the mound, Davis made the start for Rodeo allowing no hits, not runs and striking out two batters through one and a third inning pitched. Mateo Christensen came in relief and threw two scoreless innings, surrendering one hit and boasting four strikeouts. Tristan Horman started for Kingwood, allowing four base on balls and four runs in total through two-thirds of an inning. Carlos Ayala came in for relief, pitching two innings allowing two hits, five runs with four strikeouts.

Molina Jr. went 2-3 at the plate for Rodeo, leading his team in hits. Overall, Rodeo collected ten walks and stealing twelve bases during the game.

Rodeo will move to play in a rematch game with Tecolote for a spot in the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series Championship Game. As for Kingwood, they have been eliminated from the Mustang-9 World Series

Game Nine

Vacaville, California - 3, Los Mochis, Mexico - 24

Vacaville, CA was defeated by Los Mochis, MX 3-24 in Game Ten of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, with Jesus Moncayo leading the way with four hits in four at bats for Los Mochis. Moncayo singled in the first driving in two runs, another single in the second bringing in another run.

Los Mochis scored 22 runs in the second inning on their way to victory, with everyone in the lineup bringing in at least one run each. Jesus Bernal started off the scoring spree in the first inning with a single that scored a run.

Jaime Aguilar made the start on the mound for Los Mochis, giving up just four hits, three runs in a complete game over Vacaville. Mason Musgrove made the start for Vacaville, giving up nine hits, nine runs with no strikeouts in one inning. 

Los Mochis totaled 14 hits on the day, seven walks as a team, and 20 stolen bases in the win. Los Mochis also committed no errors in the impressive performance. For Vacaville, Stefano Manelia, Musgrove, Bryson Seda, and Zade Wasso collected one hit each. Wasso went one for one on the day, bringing in two of his teams 3 runs.

Los Mochis will move on to Game Eleven against Simi Valley for a spot in the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series Championship Game. For Vacaville, they have been eliminated from this year's Mustang-9 World Series

Game Eight

Tecolote, California - 8, Rodeo, California - 3

Tecolote, CA defeated Rodeo, CA 8-3 in Game Eight of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, with the game being scoreless through the first three innings before Tecolote drove in 2 runs at the top of the fourth inning.

Maddoz Matthews-Tasco and Jackson Satterly drove in the first runs of the day. Tecolote would score 5 runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning with Jesse Thomas, Ethan Schwartz, and Matthews-Tasco driving in runs. 

On the mound,  Alexander Rozsnyoi started for Tecolote, surrendering zero hits and one run over four and third innings pitched, with 6 strikeouts. Jeffery Molina Jr started for Rodeo, allowing no hits or runs through one and a third innings pitched. totaling two strikeouts. Tyler Melio and Rowan Pudlowksi each came in for relief for Tecolote.

Tecolote totaled eight hits on the day with no errors and ten bases stolen as a team,  Schwartz leading in steals with three stolen bases. Rodeo totaled 6 hits with three errors on the day.

Tecolote will move to 2-0 and will play today at 7:30pm in Game Twelve against the winner of Game Ten between Rodeo, CA and Kingwood, TX which will start at 5:00pm.

Game Seven

Simi Valley, California - 17, Vacaville, California - 1

Simi Valley, CA defeats Vacaville, 17-2 in Game Six of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, with Kealon Fisher leading Simi Valley, going three for three at the plate. Simi Valley would strike first with five runs being brought in during the first inning. Fisher led the way in his first at-bat brining in two runs off a single. Caleb Salazar, Gabriel Lopez, and Jeremy Sabel each brought in a run during the first inning. Simi Valley scored eight on their runs off of four hits in the top of the third inning, sealing the win for them.

On the mound,  Reed Webberley opened up for Simi Valley giving up one hit, no runs with no strikeouts. Gavin Cook started for Vacaville, surrendering eight hits, twelve runs, two walks and striking out one in two innings pitched. Sabel pitched two shutout innings in relief for Simi Valley, surrendering zero hits as well.

Simi Valley had 11 hits on the day with Logan Womack collecting three hits, and as team had 14 stolen bases in the game. Mason Musgrove and Brody Serrato collecting one hit each for Vacaville.
 
Vacaville will go on to play Los Mochis, MX in Game Nine today at 5:00pm and Simi Valley will be awaiting the winner of that game to play in Game Eleven at 7:30pm

Game Six

Suginaka, Japan - 10, Kingwood, Texas - 20

Suginaka, JP was defeated by Kingwood, TX in a high-scoring affair, 10-20. Kingwood, rallied back after an early 6-0 lead from Suginaka, They would end up tied at 9 in the second inning before Kingwood added seven runs in the third to close out any chance of a Suginaka comeback.

The day started off hot for Suginaka who would end up scoring one run off a wild pitch in the first inning, Kingwood would respond with 9 runs of their own in the first, a Suginaka error brought in two runs. Taiyo Hirano would drive in a run to give Suginaka a one-run lead in the top of three. 

On the mound, Kotoha Sakaeda started for Suginaka surrendering six hits, 12 runs, and striking out two in two inning pitched. For Kingwood, Drew Gastin started off the day, allowing four hits, six runs, with no strikeouts through two-thirds an inning pitched

Seiju Misawa led Suginaka, going three for three in the leadoff position. Hirano led Suginaka in runs with three and going two for three on the day. Suginaka totaled 16 stolen bases in the game with nine total hits and giving up five errors. Kingwood had ten total hits in the game, with Jeremy Thomas leading the way going three for three. Brody Steadman lead Kingwood in RBI's with three.

Kingwood will move on to play in Game Ten against Rodeo, CA at 5:00pm today. As for Suginaka they fall to 0-2 and have been eliminated in the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series

Game Five

Los Mochis, Mexico - 20, Frankfort, Illinois - 2

Los Mochis, MX defeated Frankfort, Illinois in Game Five of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series. Jesu Ruiz Sol lead Los Mochis with three hits in four at bats, singling for each hit.

Los Mochis got off to an early start with four runs scored in the first inning and scored 12 run in the third inning to put an end to the game in the third inning. They would total 15 hits, six walks, and stole 20 bases.

Jesus Bernal started on the mound for Los Mochis, surrendering two hits, two runs in two innings pitched with four strikeouts. Jaevon Jackson opened the game on the mound for Frankfort allowing seven hits, eight runs over two innings with two strikeouts

For Frankfort Joshua Jacobi and Liam Trainor score the team's two lone runs

Los Mochis will move on to Game Nine against Vacaville, California at 5:00pm. For Frankfort, Illinois they have been eliminated from the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series

Game Four

Rodeo, CA- 22, Suginaka, Japan-2 

Rodeo, CA defeated Suginaka, Japan 22-2 with Edurado D driving in five runs on four hits for Rodeo, CA. 

Edurado had two doubles, triple and a single driving in five runs. 

Rodeo, CA got on the board early when Leonardo P. singled scoring one run. Damion W singled scoring Jacob Z who drew a walk for. Isiah W. singled scoring two runs. 

In the top of the second inning, Rodeo scored five runs on six hits. Jeffery M. doubled scoring two runs. 

Leonardo started on the mound for Rodeo, CA. He gave up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Seiji K. stepped on the hill for Suginaka, Japan. He surrendered two hits and four runs over one-third inning. Jeffery appeared in relief for Rodeo, CA. 

Rodeo, CA accumulated 16 hits against Suginaka, Japan. Edurado and Leonardo each collected four hits for Rodeo, CA. Dysen D., Isiah, and Damion each collected multiple hits for Rodeo, CA. Mateo M., Mateo C., Dysen, Isiah, and Damion each stole multiple bases for Rodeo, CA. Rodeo, CA collected 18 stolen bases. 

Kotoha S led Suginaka, Japan with one hit. Keiichi Y. and Soshiro F. each stole multiple bases for Suginaka, Japan. 

Rodeo, CA will play against San Diego (Tecolote), CA in Game Eight at 7:30 pm on Field A. Suginaka, Japan will play against Kingwood, TX in Game Six at 5:00pm on Field B. 

Game Three

Vacaville, CA- 12, Frankfort, IL 9

Vacaville, CA defeated Frankfort, IL 12-9 on Friday night in Vacaville, CA. 

Vacaville, CA got on the board early after Mason M. stole home in the first inning. Gavin C. drew a walk scoring one run. 

In the second inning, Vacaville scored five runs on three hits. Zade W., Javier V., and Gavin each single scoring a run on each hit. 

Frankfort, IL battled back in the bottom of the second inning. They scored five runs on three hits. Jacob S. scored after tagging up, JD R. singled scoring one run. Both Grayson C. and Joshua J. drew walks for Frankfort, IL. 

JD had an RBI in the bottom of the third inning tying the game. 

Vacaville, CA battled and jumped back in the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Bryson S. and Stefano M. both had an RBI scoring two runs. 

Frankfort, IL capitalized when Vacaville, CA committed an error in the of the fourth tying the game at 9. 

Vacaville, CA didn’t let an error stop them. They took the lead back scoring on a wild pitch. Henry H. drew a walk and Gabriel R. singled, each scoring a run in the top of the fifth. 

Mason stepped on the mound first for Vacaville, CA. He allowed zero hits and one run, striking out two and walking two. Liam T. stepped on the hill for Frankfort, IL. He gave up one hit and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking three. 

Gabriel led Vacaville, CA with two hits in four at bats. Jaxson M., Stefano, Mason, and Zade each stole multiple bases for Vacaville, CA. 

Vacaville, CA drew seven walks and tallied 14 stolen bases. 

Jevon J. lead Frankfort, IL with two hits in three at bats. Frankfort, IL drew 12 walks for the game. Grayson, Oscar H., Joshua, Liam, and Matt W. led Frankfort, IL with multiple stolen bases. In total, Frankfort stole 13 bases in the game. 

Frankfort, IL will play today in Game Five against Los Mochis, MX at 5:00 pm on Field B. Vacaville, CA will play today in Game Seven against Simi Valley, CA at 7:30 pm on Field B. 

Game Two

Tecolote, CA - 17, Kingwood, TX -0

Tecolote, California beat Kingwood, Texas in Game Two of the 2023 Mustang-9 World Series, 17-0. Alexander Rozsnyoi led the way for Tecolote, driving in four runs off of two hits. 

Tecolote got off to an early lead with 10 runs scored in the first inning with Rozsnyoi having a two RBI double. Matthews-Tasco, White, Satterly, each bringing in one run their first at-bats. Tecolote added to their lead with Jesse Thomas, Blake Moser, Rozsnyoi, and Bradley White driving in a run each in the second inning.

Rowan Pudloski began the day on the mound for Tecolote giving up one hit, zero runs, and zero walks. For Kingwood, Whittier Vitulli started surrendering four hits and six runs over a third of an inning pitched. Tyler Melio and Ethan Schwartz each threw shutout innings in relief for Tecolote.

Tecolote totaled 18 hits, 14 stolen bases, and no errors in the victory.

Tecolote will play today in Game Eight at 7:30pm against Rodeo, California. As for Kingwood, they will play in Game Six against Suginake, Japan at 5:00pm

Game One

Simi Valley, CA - 12, Los Mochis, MX - 8

Simi Valley, California defeated Los Mochis, Mexico 12-8, wit Caleb S collecting three singles in five at bats for Simi Valley. 

Los Mochis struck first with a run in the bottom half of the first inning. Simi Valley answered back after Caleb  Salazar and Gabriel Lopez driving in one run each. In the fourth inning, Simi Valley brought in 5 runs on six hits with Caleb having a 2-run single, Kealon Fisher with a RBI double, Reed Webb with a RBI single, and Hudson Toczynski lining out and scoring a run. Miguel Rodriguez helped Los Mochis tie the game with a double in the bottom of the sixth.

On the mound for Simi Valley was Kolton Kazdoba, giving up two hits and run with two strikeouts and no walks in one and two-thirds of an inning. Justice Her, Michel, and Jeremy Sabel each appeared in relief for Simi Valley.

In total, Simi Valley had 12 hits in the game, 12 walks and 10 stolen bases on the day. As for Los Mochis they totaled 8 hits on the day with 4 errors in total.

Simi Valley will play today in Game Seven against Vacaville, California at  7:30pm. As for Los Mochis, they will play in Game Five at 5:00pm against Frankfort, Illinois
