Skills Challenge

  1. Infield/ Outfield Throwing Relay- Timed 8 Player Event. Ball Starts at Home with player in the squat, once they are signaled to go the progression will be as follows: 2-3, 3-9, 9-4, 4-8, 8-6, 6-7, 7-5, 5-2. Time will start when signaled and will stop when the catcher has possession of the ball at home plate. The winner= The team with the lowest time start to finish.
  2. 4 Corners with 2 baseballs- Timed 8 Player Event. 2 players will be stationed at 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Home. The two players at home will each have a baseball, once the first player at home is signaled to go the progression will be 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-2. Once the first baseball gets to second base the alternate player at home will immediately throw the ball in the same order as the first. Players at each position will switch in and out every time the ball passes their position. The winner= The team to go around the horn the most times without a dropped ball in 2 minutes.
  3. Home Run Derby- 4 Players from each team, each batter will have 60 seconds to hit as many balls as they can. Balls will be thrown by a coach (must be official coach from their team) pitcher located in the area of the pitching area. Bats must be approved USA bats.
